Rehabilitation Services

Care During Recovery

Newaygo Medical Care Facility provides rehabilitation services to residents staying with us temporarily or long-term while they recover or adjust to a change in situation. All services are available on-site 7 days a week, so residents can make appointments according to their preferred schedule. Here’s a look at some of our rehabilitation services:

Physical Therapy
Physical therapists work with seniors to improve mobility, reduce pain, and increase strength. Whether the resident is recovering from an injury or looking to improve their flexibility and balance, all seniors can benefit from this therapeutic movement.
Occupational Therapy
This therapy can help seniors who suffered an injury regain function and learn how to complete regular tasks like eating, dressing, and washing themselves. Occupational therapy provides seniors with helpful tools to continue their healing within the Facility and when they return home.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy can be useful for seniors to improve communication techniques or find alternate communication methods to improve their social abilities. This therapy can also help elders with difficulty chewing and swallowing.
If a patient or resident needs to work with a specialist outside of the Facility, we can coordinate schedules, arrange appointments with other medical professionals, or communicate with the patient’s doctors to follow special treatment plans.
