Who We Are
Our History
NMCF began as a refuge for underserved communities and provided essential care for the indigent and disabled. Over time, the facility needed to be expanded in order to serve more patients, and the official groundbreaking for the current location was held in July of 1962.
The treatment of staff is a key indicator of a facility’s care. Working for us means a built-in community of people who care for and support one another. We appreciate our team’s dedication to their careers, and they share a special place within the community we’ve created here.
In the last three decades, NMCF has been a stronghold in the community, adapting with the times to improve the facility for residents and staff. In more recent history, new additions like the Sunflower, Magnolia and Reflections wings were added to provide more patients with specialized care. Updates to the Facility included a modern kitchen with increased capacity, a new laundry area, and upgraded fixtures and technology.
We’ve been recognized for our superb level of care by earning the first-ever Governor’s Award for Quality of Care and the Calvin H. Monfil Award for Facility Excellence, granted by the Health Care Association of Michigan. Even with this prestigious recognition, our dedication to quality long-term and restorative care will continue long after the awards have gathered dust.
